The Roku Search Feed is a structured JSON file that allows Roku channels to integrate their content into Roku’s search functionality.

This feed contains metadata for an app’s video catalog, including details like title, description, duration, rating, language, artwork, and availability.

Thanks to this feed, channel developers and owners can now make searchable on Roku, not only the channel, but every single piece of video content they add to their channels.

Following some basic rules can make the difference between having your content indexed and searchable sooner or in months.

The first and most important rule

You can submit a search feed for indexing only after your channel is published and live on the Roku Network.
